Your business texts will be labelled ‘unverified’ from July unless you act now
Small businesses sending customer texts risk being ignored, or mistaken for scams, under new rules coming into effect on July 1.
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has warned that SMS messages sent using unregistered branded sender IDs will be labelled “Unverified”, replacing the business name that would usually appear.
This means texts that might normally show names like The Iconic, KOGAN or Anaconda could instead appear as generic messages and be grouped alongside potential scam texts.
