QLD offers $16,000 cash bonus for businesses to hire apprentices
The Queensland government says it is “delivering the help businesses need to get more hands on the tools”.
Queensland businesses will be offered new cash payments and wage subsidies for hiring apprentices, as the state aims to get 4,500 new apprentices working across the construction sector.
The Queensland government is rolling out its new TradieStart program and extending the existing Small Business Apprenticeship Program to help address the state’s skills shortage and bolster the building sector as preparations ramp up for the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games.
Under the TradieStart program, small businesses hiring their first apprentice will receive a base payment of $10,000.
